Anthologies with short stories featuring characters from my award-winning novels
From fantasy and steampunk, to mystery and thriller, to contemporary social issues and romance, the authors in this book have all written novels that feature strong girls as protagonists.
These girls solve their problems using their brains, skills, reason, courage, and resiliency. In other words, they are kick ass girls, sometimes without literally kicking ass. They are heroines.
This book contains short stories starring the heroines—or other characters— from the worlds depicted in our novels. They are the Kick Ass Girls of Fire and Ice YA Books.

My story in this collection is a prequel to my YA urban fantasy novel, Cry of the Sea, called "Beneath the Wildflowers" - meet Juniper Sawfeather half a year before she discovers mermaids and get a taste of her environmental activist life and the mythical world that surrounds her.

"Sharing the Spotlight" uses the main characters Heidi and Donald from my middle grade novel about Autism Awareness, No One Needed to Know, as their family handles a difficult evening when both of their school holiday programs are scheduled for the same night.
"Christmas Among the Evergreens" a story featuring Juniper Sawfeather that takes place on Christmas Eve - between the novels Cry of the Sea and Whisper of the Woods - where she navigates a day going back and forth between visiting her grandfather on the reservation and her mother's parents in the suburbs. You get to know Juniper a little better, and there is a hint of magic thrown in, too.
On top of all that, I have written some musical children's plays. Two are available for any theater or school that would like to produce them, and I have a book of sketch comedy published by Contemporary Drama Services. Learn more here.
